Guggenheim Foundation Fellowships - Applications Open!

The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation provides fellowships for advanced professionals in all fields -- including the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and creative arts -- except the performing arts. Often characterized as "midcareer" awards, the fellowships are intended for individuals who have already demonstrated exceptional capacity for productive scholarship or exceptional creative ability in the arts.

The foundation will provide fellowships to composers but not conductors, singers, or instrumentalists; choreographers but not dancers; filmmakers, playwrights, and performance artists who create their own work but not actors or theater directors.

Applications and accompanying documents from citizens and permanent residents of the United States and Canada should be submitted no later than September 19, 2014.
