DepicT! is Watershed’s international short film competition as part of Encounters International Film Festival that challenges filmmakers to create super-shorts of under 90 seconds.
DepicT! has been running since 1998 and prides itself on the quality of its little gems. Every year we receive hundreds of films of every genre from dozens of countries all around the world all competing for our great range of prizes and industry exposure. The teams of judges who deliberate over the entries have included some superstar names – such as Peter Jackson, Pete Postlethwaite and Damien O’Donnell.
Every year the shortlisted DepicT! filmmakers, often in that crucial early stage in their career, are invited to the Encounters International Film Festival and offered a prime industry platform. The festival is a priceless opportunity for filmmakers to promote their work and make contact with a broad range of international industry professionals...
$20,000 ScreenCraft Short Film Production Grant
Are you shooting a short film this year? To further develop the careers of emerging writers and filmmakers, we're supporting short films with financing! GET FUNDED. In partnership with BondIt, a film & media fund based in Beverly Hills, ScreenCraft is offering between three and six production grants per year to talented filmmakers for short film and online series that display originality, vision & exceptional potential. Grant amounts will range from $5,000 to $20,000 depending on the scale and merit of the project. We also offer matching funds for crowd-funding campaigns – see the Application Guidelines for specific details.
