2018 International Short Film Competition
EARLY ENTRY DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 15th
The FOLCS International Short Film Competition is an opportunity for developing filmmakers exploring themes related to matters of justice and injustice in our society and is produced by the Forum on Law, Culture & Society at NYU School of Law. Submitted films should have an underlying legal, civic, moral, and human rights theme.
“Legal theme" may be broadly construed. Entrants are free to choose any subject in which the relationship between law, justice, and society can be fashioned into a unique visual story.
Any genre is permitted. Films should run no longer than 20 minutes.
Finalist shorts will be screened at the FOLCS Awards Night as part of the Annual FOLCS Film Series in New York City. Each year the Film Series features renowned filmmakers, actors, writers, journalists, public intellectuals, and members of the legal profession. The Film Series also attracts overflowing and diverse crowds of film enthusiasts, which provides a great platform for showcasing your winning work!
Deadlines:
Early: Nov 15, 2017 / entry fee: $25
Regular: Dec 15, 2017 / entry fee: $35
Late: Jan 15, 2018 / entry fee: $45

- Outstanding Female Filmmaker
- Young Filmmaker (18 years and under)
- Audience Favorite
Winner of Best Short Award will also receive an InkTip Script Listing.
